During June-September 1910, Prichard and his party traveled inland from Nain, their goal being to blaze a trail from the Atlantic coast of Labrador to the widening of the George River known as Indian House Lake. In relating his adventures, Prichard includes his observations of Indigenous peoples, settlers, the mission work of the Moravians and Dr. Wilfred Grenfell, and the various animals of Labrador. Illustrated with a frontispiece by Lady Helen Graham. Includes a chapter on fishing by G. M. Gathorne-Hardy.
