The Codex Mendoza contains pictorial accounts of Aztec emperors' conquests and tribute paid by the conquered peoples as well as a vivid pictorial account of early-sixteenth-century Aztec life. Painted by an Aztec book artist, The Codex had added notes by a Spanish priest familiar with the Aztec language. This book reproduces all its pages.
