Details: viii, 309 p. 23 cm. 13 illustrations, including two in colour showing regimental colours. Green cloth hardcover with attractive gold print and gold text block edges. Corners bumped. Spine ends slightly worn. Hinges repaired internally. Ink inscription on front pastedown states "Moray Brown, Ensign 79th Highlanders Retired as Lieutenant 1884". James Moray Brown served in India with the 79th Cameron Highlanders and wrote several books on sporting topics during the late 1880s and 1890s eg. "I Was A Tiger Hunter." He has a brief bio in the alphabetical officers' listings section p. 211. News clippings pasted to front pages describe the Highlanders in Egypt and the regiment's centenary celebration.
