The plot is described as being 50 acres, the north half of the east half of lot 14 in con. 4, Zone Township. Sir William Pearce Howland (1811 1907) was second Lieutenant Governor of Ontario from 1868 to 1873. Also signed by Andrew Russell, Assistant Commissioner of Crown Lands for Ontario, and others.
