Canadian novelist, essayist, screenwriter, and poet David Adams Richards left St. Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick three credits shy of completing a B.A. It hasn't stopped him from being writer-in-residence at various universities and colleges across Canada, including the University of New Brunswick. He has a Giller Prize and two Governor General's Literary Awards to his credit.
