Subjects include the enthronement of the Archibishop of Canterbury, Emperor of the French visiting the Paris Exhibition, Crimean War, Suez Canal, etc. Pictures of foreign lands, historical figures, members of the Royal Family, nature, and sentimental scenes. Provides insight into Victorian minds and sentiments.

Unpaginated. 40 cm. Hundreds of text and illustration clippings from newspapers and magazines, most glued in with some inserted. Most b&w with some colour. Also some original drawings. Half leather with marbled paper boards and label for "Chs' J. Mickle. Guelph." Spine is torn and boards are loosening from text. Chips and tears to page edges.
