Avec Plusieurs autres lettres, memoires & Instructions ecrites depuis 1504, jusques & Compris 1514. FRENCH-LANGUAGE TEXT. Cardinal George d'Amboise (14670-1510) was an ambitious Roman Catholic Cardinal who failed in his ambitions to become Pope but was simultaneously helpful in efforts to stop the spread of plague and the scourge of famine. King Louis XII of France (1462-1515) was politically active during this period, realigning the French monarchy with the British through his second marriage, and his own efforts to reduce taxes and push through new legal reforms. The correspondence between these two figures will provide the reader with a firsthand insight into late-15th and early-16th century French history.
