An Account of Greenland was first written c.1645 while La Peyrere was secretary in the French embassy at Copenhagen. Originally in French, the work was requested by M. de la Mothe de Vayer, a member of the French Academy and tutor of King Louis XIV. The first English translation was published in "Churchill's Voyages" in 1704 (second edition 1732). The text includes geographical description as well as the manners of Greenland's people.

"White-out" used for repagination and on "Advertisement" page. Small tear in page 6. Isaac de La Peyrere was a French theologian well-known for his geographical descriptions of Greenland and Iceland.
