Title continues: "Containing A Full Account of all their Speeches on the propsed Regency Bill, from November 20, 1788, to March 10, 1789, when His Majesty's happy Recovery took place, and put a Stop to all further Proceedings on that Subject. To which are added, The Three Reports of the Physicians; Mr. Pitt's Letter to the Prince of Wales, with His Royal Highness's Answer; The Regency Bill, as it passed the House of Commons, and was carried to the Lords, and there read a second time; and The Speeches of the Lords and Commons of Ireland, on appointing the Prince of Wales Regent without Restrictions; with a Copy of their Address, and the Prince's Answer." Government reports describing the deteriorating health of King George III and the creation of the Regency of his son, George, Prince of Wales. In February 1789, the Regency Bill, authorizing the Prince of Wales to act as Prince Regent, was introduced and passed in the House of Commons, but before the House of Lords could pass the bill King George III recovered. The Regency did not begin until 1810 when the King became permanently ill. This collection includes the reports of the attending physicians. More photos available on request.
