BURKHOLDER, Mabel; HOUY, H. Hartke (illus.)
Mabel Burkholder (18811973) published poetry, short stories, and books, usually about the history of Hamilton, Ontario. She had a regular local history column in The Hamilton Spectator. Here, however, she turned her attention to Quebec to write a French Canadian children's tale. This story is about a boy named Raoul who is chosen to destroy a mill engine. But worse trouble ensues when Raoul persuades another boy to do the dirty work instead.
