Foreword describes David Mason's friendship with Morley Callaghan and his acquisition of correspondence between Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald and himself. The catalogued letters described a boxing match between Callaghan and Hemingway in which Fitzgerald acted as timekeeper. Callaghan won, Hemingway's ego couldn't handle it, Fitzgerald was embarassed. The letters came into the hands of David Mason but were stolen from his locked store safe in 1993. Perhaps they're out there somewhere. Meanwhile, this catalogue respresents the sales Mason could have made. We include an article from The Guardian dated August 30, 2016 in Toronto's famous bookseller describes his acquisition and loss of the correspondence.
