The inscription is problematic: 1. Is it really Bottomley? He seldom if ever sported a mustache. 2. Was Bottomley in Leamington, Ontario? 3. There was no Earl of Devonshire at this time period. 4. Bottomley was not an earl. A mysterious muddle.
