Northern Ontario and Manitoulin Island: There's More To Northern Ontario Than Rocks, Trees and Lakes

That vast, sparsely populated region of Ontario lying north of Lake Huron is MORE than wilderness, according to Geoffrey Corfield: "there are 387 places in Northern Ontario, not counting all the places where there are no people and which are therefore difficult to count as official places. Anyway, 387 places is a lot of places. And you can only put so many places into one little book." Still, he manages to fill his book with amusing stories about mining claims, the Polar Bear Express, black flies, parks, the Group of Seven, and hockey, of course.
