The Royal Dictionary Abridged. In Two Parts. I. French and English. II English and French.
This work was ostensibly written for the Duke of Gloucester, but as there was no such person for over 40 years prior to its publication, the seriousness of this claim is doubtful. Nonetheless, Boyer's creation found a great deal of use, as it set the standard for future French/English translation dictionaries.
