Gems From Fable-Land: A Collection of Fables Illustrated by Facts

BOURNE, Wm. Oland

Regular price $35.00 Sale

Each section consists of a poem, a moral statement, and several short stories or fables to illustrate the point. The stories are from the ancient world right down to the 19th century and involve some famous people eg. Cicero, Peter the Great, etc. but most unknown. Fables illustrate "Doing Good to Others," "Dangers of Lofty Stations," "The Power of Gentleness," etc. and, interestingly, "Contempt for Literature."
