Published by Sinn Fein and sold by its members, the text was written by the former editor of The United Irishman newspaper. The pamphlet recounts Tuathail's arrest, which lead to an inquiry into his and his fellow inmates' treatment by authorities. He wrote the pamphlet while behind bars, and it was smuggled out for publication. The cover features a photograph of then Brigadier Frank Kitson, a noted writer on low-intensity military operations. These techniques, in regards to the use of defectors and measure of deception, were used against the Irish Republican movement. He later testified to the Saville Inquiry regarding Bloody Sunday, and evidently Tuathail did not hold him in high esteem.
