PENNANT, Thomas

Regular price $750.00 Sale

Thomas Pennant's interest in natural history began at the age of 12 when he was given a copy of Francis Willoughby's "Ornithology." In 1781, he published the "History of Quadrupeds," a new and enlarged edition of his "Synopsis of Quadrupeds" which had been published in 1771. Pennant's name stands high among the naturalists of the 18th century and he has been commended for making technical matter interesting. The attractive illustrations make these volumes even more interesting - don't miss the grimacing bat.
