The Land of Evangeline and the Gateways Thither
ROBERTS, Charles G. D.
A tour of the Evangeline route on the Dominion Atlantic Railway, generously sprinkled with history, literary thoughts, and fishing. Place names include Wolfville, Kentville, Annapolis Royal, Digby, Yarmouth, Grand Pré, Windsor, Halifax, St. John, Lunenburg, etc. Also has a list of hotels adjacent to the D.A.R. as well as Nova Scotia game laws. While Roberts is better known for his animal stories, the story of Evangeline and the Acadian/Creole story of refuge in the Canadian wilderness that she fictionalises is a related subject for one of Canada's most famous 19th century writers.
