The author, born in St. Catharines, Ontario, became a prominent horticulturist after becoming disillusioned with the practice of law. He was one of the founders of the Fruit Growers Association of Upper Canada and helped solidify the Niagara region as an agricultural centre. Collectors of Canadian horticulture will recognize the name D. W. Beadle Nursery Company. This book is from Beadle's first career. A classic of American law, it is also an excellent source for researchers of American history. Includes examples of bills, drafts and notes, as well as contracts, arbitration, mortgages, bonds, conveyances, deeds, leases, liabilities, regulations, and the values of gold and silver.
