vi, 522 p. 26 cm. Full leather medieval-like binding. Attractively finished raised bands extending from spine to front cover, ending in fleur-de-lis. Includes full-colour frontispiece, b&w plate, and many illustrations throughout the text. Top band torn on front. Some wear affecting gilt title. Corners worn. Front hinge beginning to crack. Marginalia in pencil and pencil-crayon notes throughout does not interfere with the text. Occasional small edge tears.
