George Alfred Henty (1832-1902) was a British novelist and war correspondent best known for his historical adventure stories aimed at young male readers and promoting the Imperial project at the end of the 19th century. This particular novel tells a story set in Ancient Egypt during the age of Pharohs when Cats were first domesticated and seen as spiritually significant creature related to the idea of reincarnation.
