Vocabulary in French and English. A Facsimile of Caxton's Edition c. 1480
OATES, J. C. T.; HARMER, L. C.
The copy of the work from which this facsimile has been made was acquired by the University Library in 1960 in exchange for one of the Library's two imperfect copies of Caxton's edition of The Recuyell of the Histories of Troy. It appeared in Sotheby's catalogue, described as Vocabulary and Conversation Book in French and English. H. P. Kraus purchased it, and immediately offered it in exchange. The Vocabulary is one of only four copies known to survive. All are now in libraries and unlikely ever to come again into the market (Preface).
