Mediaeval Researches from Eastern Asiatic Sources
Bretschneider (1833-1901) was a Baltic German sinologist who first published this study in 1888. The book includes his English translation of three important Chinese works about the history and geography of central Asia: "Travel to The West" by Ye-l Ch'u-Ts'ai (Genghis Khan's chief adviser), "Travels to the West" by Taoist monk Kiu Ch'ang Ch'un, and "The Peregrinations of Ye-Lu Hi Liang."
