Burgundy and borwn spine labels, gilt trim on spine. Worn corners and edges as well as spine heads. Some cracking to upper front hinge vol. 1 and chip in leather to upper front corner. Former owner's labels on front pages and small bookseller's labels on rear pastedowns. Damp mark in blue on lower corner of frontispiece portrait in vol. 2 also slightly affecting title page.
