Title continues: "Or, Night-Thoughts on Life, Death, and Immortality. to which are added, Some Thoughts on the late Rebellion. And A Paraphrase on Part of the Book of Job." The success of Night Thoughts, was enormous, being translated into French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, Welsh and Magyar. Young's masterpiece emerged from obscurity by being mentioned in Edmund Blunden's World War I memoir, Undertones of War (1928), as a source of comfort during time in the trenches.
