Jean Le Clerc (1657-1736), Protestant theologian, was also an historian, critic and journalist in Geneva, London, and Amsterdam. His writings are an important collection of accounts and extracts from the main scientific and philosophical books published in his time, as well as studies on subjects he found interesting. Gilt trim on spines, black spine labels. Marbled paper peeling back on front of vol. 28. Each volumes's front pastedown has two reference labels and a bookplate for Thomas Conolly "En Dieu est Tout."
