The St. Bride Notebook. With wood engravings by Eric Ravilious. Published to celebrate the centenary of his birth
ARCHER, Caroline; HARLING, Robert; RAVILIOUS, Eric (illus.)
Eric Ravilious (1903 – 1942) was an English painter, designer, book illustrator and wood engraver. He served as a war artist and died when the aircraft he was in was lost off Iceland. To celebrate the centenary of Eric's birth, the Friends of St. Bride Printing Library commissioned Incline Press to design and print this new edition of the "Kynoch Press Notebook of 1933" (roughly twice the size of the rare original which is in the possession of the St. Bride Library). Introduction by Dr. Caroline Archer, author of "A History of the Kynoch Press," with "Notes on the Wood Engravings of Eric Ravilious" by Robert Harling.
