John Quincy Adams Ward (1830 - 1910) was an American sculptor who is best known for his larger than life statue of George Washington on the steps of Federal Hall on Wall Street, New York. He was a founder and president of the National Sculpture Society president of the National Academy of Design. The author, Dr. Lewis Sharp, was at the time of publication curator and administrator for the American Wing of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
