Laurence Housman was an author of plays, fiction, and poetry, as well as an illustrator. He worked on many books with his sister, Clemence Housman, a talented engraver in her own right. Edmund Dulac was a French illustrator who made his reputation during the fin de siecle, producing illustrations, not only for the periodical press, but for editions of Shakespeare, Edgar Allan Poe, and Hans Christian Anderson.
