Histoire de Louys XII, Roy de France, Pere du Peuple, et des choses memorables aduenues de son Regne, depuis l'an MCCCCXCVIII, iusques a l'an MDXV
DE SEYSSEL, Claude; D'AUTON, Jean
King Louis XII of France (reigned 1498 to 1515) was a popular monarch, called "the Father of the People" as the title page of this book indicates. After he reformed the French legal system, reduced taxes and improved government, it is not surprising that historians Claude de Seyssel and Jean D'Auton felt the need to write his biography. Other writers assisted, as indicated by their occasional names in the margins. French text.
