Fitzgerald's fourth and final completed novel first published in Scribner's Magazine between January and April 1934. The title is taken from the poem "Ode to a Nightingale" by John Keats. While the novel received only a lukewarm reception upon its initial release, it is now accepted as one of Fitzgerald's most accomplished works.
