In addition to being a collector, Frederick Nettlefold (1833-1913) was one of Victorian England's "Captains of Industry," taking over his father's brass company when the latter took up a political career. Nettleford was also a leader in the Unitarian Church and served as lay President of its international organization. Discusses the early life of R. W. Martin, Martin's brothers, the F. J. Nettlefold collection. Also includes bibliography, collections, exhibition lists, and index." More photos available on request.
