A large lake in Muskoka became an early holiday resort due its natural beauty and proximity to urban centres farther south. These postcards from ca. 1900 to 1940 capture a bygone era of rustic inns, quaint cabins, steam ships, long-skirted tennis players, and the narrow-gauge railway called The Portage Flyer.
