Despite the subtitle's mention of 1841, the books contain cartoons portraying events right up to 1884. Each cartoon has an accompanying description, which is helpful for those of us who can't remember all our 19th century Canadian political history. Sir John A. Macdonald comes up frequently, as does Sir Charles Tupper, the National Policy, Oliver Mowat, Uncle Sam, etc.
